Online Poker Hands
There are many different poker hands you can make with a standard 52 card deck. The list below shows you the ranking of these hands, when you are playing poker without Jokers. Playing poker with jokers is stupid!
Royal Flush:
This is the king of all hands! Nothing can beat it. A Royal flush consists of the five highest cards in a poker deck (Ace, King, Queen, Jack, & Ten) all in the same suit.
Straight Flush:
This hand ranks right below the Royal Flush and is very similar, however it consists of five cards all of the same suit in order. For example you could have five clubs in the following order 5, 6, 7, 8, & 9. This would be considered a Straight Flush.
Four Of A Kind:
A Four of a Kind is basically four cards all of the same rank. For example you could have 4 5's or 4 8's. If there are two or more hands that have a four of a kind, the hand with a higher rank wins. Therefore 4 5's beats 4 3's.
Full House:
A Full House consists of a three of a kind and a pair of cards. An example of this hand would be K-K-K-5-5. If there are more then one hand with a full house, the tie is broken by the three of a kind part of the hand. An example of this would be that A-A-A-5-5 beats K-K-K-10-10.
Flush:
A Flush consists of five cards all of the same suit like 5, 9, 10, Jack, & 3 all of hearts. When there are more then one flush in a game, follow the rules of High Card Rankings. Thus an Ace High flush, will always beat a King high flush, unless the King high flush is a straight flush of course!
Straight:
A Straight consists of five cards in order (6, 7, 8, 9, 10). An Ace can be considered High or Low when dealing with a straight. So you can have an Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Ten straight, or an Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5 Straight. A higher straight always beats a lower straight, and if the two straights tie, they split the pot.
Three Of A Kind:
Three of the same cards of any rank, and the other two cards are both different. As usual a higher three of a kind, beats a lower one.
Two Pair:
This hand consists of two separate pairs of cards along with a Fifth card in a hand. The hand with the higher pair wins the hand, and if two hands have the same two pairs, the hand with the higher fifth card (called the Kicker) wins the hand.
One Pair:
One pair with three other separate cards. The High Card breaks a tie. (Kicker)
High Card:
Any hand that does not consist of any of the following above. The hand with the highest ranking of cards wins the hand.
