    Online Poker Rules

To the innocent bystander the game of poker can be quite complicated, however this is truly not the case.  Once you understand how the cards are ranked, and how a poker hand is made, poker becomes more of a game of strategy.  Below you will find the ranking of poker cards, as well as the rank of poker hands to determine which hand beats what.

    Poker Card Rankings

The followings is the ranking of poker cards in a standard 52 card deck from highest to lowest:

    Ace - King - Queen - Jack - Ten - Nine - Eight - Seven - Six - Five - Four - Three - Two

The Ace can be either High or Low in a hand, but can never be both for a winning hand, thus the Ace can also be considered the number one card.

In a standard 52 card deck there are four poker suits. There is no suit that is considered higher then another suit.  Listed here are the Four Poker Card Suits:  Hearts, Diamonds, Spades, & Clubs
